Comment on Monument Grills Launches Eminence Series with Three New Smart Gas Grills by Quenton Smith https://toolsinaction.com/monument-grills-eminence-series-smart-gas-grills/#comment-237022 Sat, 22 Mar 2025 18:55:25 +0000 https://toolsinaction.com/?p=82945#comment-237022 Monument seems to keep “upping the ante” on their premiere 6 burner grill. But I’m sad to see a few things not carried over from the Denali series. The slide-out tank holder & warming rack with 2 different size circles and looped front edged design which allows for some creative vertical gilling/roasting of conical & spear shaped veggies (like peppers/carrots/parsnips)…or for hanging chicken drumsticks or wings like from a chandelier. I also like the glass insert so that you can check what’s inside without lifting the cover and losing heat. I hope Monument brings the warming rack design and the slide out tank holder back…or at least offer them as accessories that can be exchanged.

Yes, it is a little higher but well worth it. Everytime I look at the trim, I am glad I went with it. Makes the final touches of our remodel that much better. In regards to tools, I would get a fine tooth blade for you miter saw so you get good cuts. Invest in a nice Diablo, well worth it. I learned the hard way on how to install this trim since it’s a 3 piece trim for the casing. I installed once piece at a time and built up on the casing. So I would install the flat piece, then measure and cut the side piece and then do the same for the half round piece. I finally figured out to put all three pieces of trim together and nail them first, them make the cut and then install all together. Much easier and faster.

I am acting as GC on our house build- really want to use WO- but figure with the higher cost for materials- I’ll need to install most of the trim. Could you share best tools that give sound cuts on their products?

Comment on New Kobalt Lawn Tools & OPE by Brad Barefoot https://toolsinaction.com/new-kobalt-lawn-tools-ope/#comment-236200 Wed, 05 Mar 2025 00:04:47 +0000 https://toolsinaction.com/?p=79913#comment-236200 The Kolbalt 24 volt line is a great “platform” to grow into. Not only could power your lawn care equipment but your power tool needs use the same battery. We’re getting 3 pieces of the Kobalt equipment this week (3/7/25) the attachment capable trimmer, the 6 inch pruning saw and the 8 inch hedge clipper, along with two extra 4 amp batteries. I’m a Ryobi 18 volt guy, but the nearest Home Depot is a one-hour car ride away, Lowes less than 10 minutes. The Kobalt will accept all my Ryobi attachments, plans include buying a standard 24 volt trimmer as well. With the 18 & 24 volt units using .065 or.080 lines an remembering these machines are meant for light work … not clearing jungle. I generally got about 30 minutes from a 18 volt battery, I’ll be pleased to see maybe 10 more minutes, looking forward to using the new 24 volt equipment.

Comment on Troy-Bilt Squall 2100 208cc 21″ Single-Stage Gas Snow Blower – Review by Michael Lennon https://toolsinaction.com/troybilt-squall-2100-snow-thrower/#comment-235433 Thu, 13 Feb 2025 17:50:23 +0000 http://toolsinaction.com/?p=14493#comment-235433 I laugh as I read thru these responses. Anyways, a fix to the wheels falling off. Take ya a drill and drill bit. Drill a hole at the end of the axle. Put the wheel on, put a flat washer on, then install a cotter pin. Problem fixed indefinetly.

Comment on Makita LS1019L Miter Saw Review by Andrew https://toolsinaction.com/makita-ls1019l-miter-saw-review/#comment-235380 Wed, 12 Feb 2025 04:34:56 +0000 http://toolsinaction.com/?p=62812#comment-235380 I’m not surprised some units need adjusting out of the box. The Makita standard packaging is just not up to the abuse DHL and UPS ete give kit like this. My new 1019 was delivered yesterday with broken plastic and metal parts due to transit abuse, which better packaging would have avoided. Not opened the replacement yet! Makita need to improve ASAP.
